Laura Moses, CPA, MBA
President & Director of Client Services
Laura founded JD Main to assist small businesses in leveraging best in class accounting solutions to give them an edge in today’s market place. With technological advances, accounting software is being delivered online which is often referred to as cloud accounting or SaaS (software as a service). The key to building a custom solution for your business is by carefully selecting accounting software that has many fully integrated, top of the line, third party, add-on applications. Today’s leading software has been designed or re-designed from the ground up to enable access from any web-enabled device so business owners literally have information at their fingertips. Laura’s knowledge of and experience with such solutions can help you transform the way you do accounting.
Prior to founding JD Main, Laura was a Corporate Controller for several privately held companies spanning twenty years. During this time, she gained hands on, supervisory and Controller level experience in all facets of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, credit approval, payroll, payroll taxes, sales tax and financial statement preparation. In addition to Laura’s accounting background, due to her intuitive understanding of accounting and business software, she has served as project manager for many software implementations and as the in house expert for ongoing support.

For the past 14 years Lisa has been working from her home office providing bookkeeping services to companies including offsite Financial Manager to a Real Estate company. That role included managing all aspects of the bookkeeping functions for all properties and agents as well as supervising secretarial staff.
Prior to that, Lisa was a Branch Manager for a Chicagoland Banking group. With that position she was overseeing many different areas of the bank including branch staff, client deposit accounts including retirement funds and consumer lending. Each branch was run as an independent business so her attitude of pitching in wherever the help was needed was always good – whether it was running a teller window or shoveling snow.
When away from work, Lisa can usually be found at a youth sporting event with her 3 children (ages 14, 9 and 7) who have yet to find a sport they don’t like and want to play. Lisa also enjoys cooking and is an avid reader of all types of genres.
In 2006, Callie, originally from Georgia, was hired to work as the receptionist at a printing company in Bloomingdale, IL. Callie quickly proved herself to be the best employee ever seated at that desk by handling a full-time accounting workload while greeting visitors, answering phones and handling countless other daily distractions. She processed customer invoices and entered employee time in the mornings and knocked out the mail, bank deposit, cash receipts and accounts payable invoices in the afternoon.
After a brief engagement, Callie was married in 2009 and became a military wife. Just a couple of months later she and her husband were re-located to Kansas where they welcomed their son in 2011. Callie’s husband has completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan while Callie has concentrated on raising their beautiful son.
Luckily, she and her former manager at the printing company, Laura Moses, kept in contact throughout the years. When Laura was in need of a top-notch, part-time employee to handle accounts payable and other bookkeeping tasks she immediately thought of Callie, who was ready to jump back into the workforce on a part-time basis. Callie’s previous experience, work ethic and pursuit of perfection make her a valuable member of the JD Main team.
